Meet Our Founder :
Patrizia De Libero

Spiritual seeker from a young age, Patrizia discovered her spiritual path in her early twenties. A few years later she encountered Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, a meeting that deeply shaped her life and practice. She became a dedicated ashtangi, committing herself wholeheartedly to the traditional lineage of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and studied with teachers certified by Guruji, honoring the authenticity and discipline of this living tradition.
Rooted in the philosophy and method of the Ashtanga lineage, Patrizia’s practice is grounded in devotion, consistency, and respect for the teacher–student transmission that defines this path. The structure of the method, the rhythm of breath and movement, and the transformative power of daily practice became the foundation of both her personal evolution and her teaching.
She later became a yoga teacher herself and founded Soham Yoga School, where she trains future yoga teachers. The vision for the school emerged during a pilgrimage to India, a journey that deepened her commitment to preserving the integrity of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga tradition while sharing its wisdom with dedicated students.
Passionate about the invisible world and the mysteries of life—especially the deeper meaning behind obstacles—Patrizia explores the fascinating dialogue between quantum physics and ancient esoteric traditions, as well as the body’s innate intelligence. For her, yoga is a gateway where science, spirituality, and embodied experience meet.
Through the lens of the Ashtanga Vinyasa lineage, she believes that the entire universe can reveal itself within a single posture: breath, awareness, discipline, and surrender converging in a moment where the microcosm reflects the macrocosm.

I AM is the only State of existence. So'ham, or So'hum, is a Hindu mantra that can be translated as "I am He/That." It is derived from the Sanskrit, sah, meaning "He," and aham, meaning "I." It is a universal and natural mantra because it is present within everybody as the breath, with the sound of "SO" during inhalation and "HAM" during exhalation.

As such, So'ham is a mantra that is chanted just by concentrating on the breath, because the breath chants it naturally.
The breath is permeated by the divine. Fill yourself with this food, at every moment. Breathe consciously, now.

Inhale So, exhale Ham...

OUR COMMUNITY

Soham Yoga School is more than a place of learning—it is a living, breathing community of deeply experienced teachers from all over the world, united by a shared sadhana, a shared commitment to inner work, truth, and presence. Each teacher brings a unique path, a different voice, yet all are rooted in the same intention: to support transformation through awareness.

Here, you are not simply taught—you are held, guided, and accompanied. We are here to support you in deepening your practice, not only on the mat, but in the subtle spaces of your life where real change happens. Through this journey, something begins to shift: a new appetite for life emerges, a quiet but powerful longing that only an inner awakening can begin to fulfill.

But what is this “awakening”? And how does one feel the need for it?

Awakening is not a destination. It is not a milestone to achieve, nor a reward for discipline or effort. It cannot be possessed, measured, or claimed. Awakening is a movement—a soft, continuous unfolding. It is a journey into love: love for others, love for life, and ultimately, love as life itself.

At first, we may come to practice seeking personal wellbeing—peace, clarity, relief. And this is natural. But with time, something matures. The center of gravity shifts. We begin to meditate not only for ourselves, but for others. Our practice becomes less about “me” and more about connection, presence, and offering.

Meditation, then, reveals itself as an act of love. A silent gesture rooted in truth. A way of being that nourishes not only the one who practices, but the world around them.

In this community, we walk this path together.

Soham Yoga Experience is a place where students and teachers unify their Sankalpa (Intentions) through the practice of yoga for the goodness and wellbeing of the broader community, to serve the Divine Source of all that exists.
We are yoga teachers and sincere spiritual seekers from around the world. Experience plays an important role in our trainings, as we trust knowledge to be at the service of presence and not vice versa. This is why our yoga teacher trainings are pilgrimages, journeys to sacred places to India and other destinations, where the student can blend with the atmosphere that emanates by special beings, temples, prayers, sadhana and so much more.
These impressions enter deeply the student’s heart who benefits by been away from its comfort zone, embracing a new culture and enchanting environment.
The result is indeed transformative training one will never forget. Join our next yoga teacher training to India!

the guru and the ROLE OF THE LINEAGe

The presence of a spiritual teacher, or Guru, is not about devotion to a person, but about recognizing in them a living reflection of our highest nature. Through their presence, something within us is awakened—something that already exists yet often remains unseen. The Guru acts as an intermediary, like the subtle air between the material and the unseen worlds, bridging what we perceive with what we intuit but cannot yet fully grasp. Meeting great beings such as the Dalai Lama, as well as teachers within the Yoga traditions, the Gurdjieff Work, and the Christian contemplative path, has profoundly shaped Patrizia's life. Their teachings were living examples—embodied truth expressed through Presence. Some of these guides are still alive, others have passed beyond the physical plane, yet the connection remains. Through sincere practice, it is possible to enter into an inner relationship with the Guru, beyond time and space—a subtle guidance that continues to illuminate the path from within. There is also a deep importance in lineage—the authentic transmission of teachings preserved in their integrity across generations. At the beginning, it is essential to approach the teaching with respect for its original form. This fidelity is not a limitation, but a doorway: through form, one enters depth. Yet as the teaching is sincerely practiced and digested, something begins to shift. The form is not abandoned, but gradually transformed from within, becoming alive in a new way. In this sense, lineage is not static transmission, but a living current: what is received in purity is then expressed anew, in alignment with the inner Guru, allowing the teaching to continue its journey through each individual life. In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Guru principle is expressed as that which removes ignorance and reveals pure awareness. The sacred sound Om is described as the primordial vibration and a doorway to this higher intelligence—both guide and presence. Through its repetition and contemplation, one aligns with the inner teacher, the Guru within. Ultimately, the outer Guru prepares us for this recognition: that true guidance is not separate from us but arises from the deepest center of our own being. This s the place we need to inhabit.
